blog image When I took over as the Country Facilitator in May 2015, there were seven members in the Pakistan Platform, most of them were partners of SDC Pakistan under its Governance portfolio. With recommendations from the members, a concerted effort was undertaken to include more members, and today, the Pakistan Platform boasts 22 members which consists of NGOs, INGOs, think tanks, development partners, advocacy groups, a private university, training institutes and local councils associations. This is a good mix of members to take LOGIN forward in Pakistan. Read more...

Hello from Afghanistan!

I am a proud member of the LOGIN family which is doing valuable work in the decentralisation and local governance space. Through LOGIN, I am connected to stakeholders across the region and have a clear understanding of governance structure. Earlier, before I got familiar with LOGIN, I didn’t know anything about the Network and what its vision and mission was. Gradually, I learned more about LOGIN and found the Network activities to be relevant to my country’s ongoing reforms. Read more...

What a value added!

blog image Myanmar was a late starter in the decentralization and local governance space since the centralized authoritarian regimes ruled the countries for several decade. Citizens have grown up under the suspicious surveillance and restricted using the word “Governance” or “Democracy”. When Myanmar opened up with disciplined democracy in 2010, we took it as an opportunity to broaden enabling political environment in promotion of governance and democracy. Read more...

Falling in Love

When I first heard about her, it was a strange story for me. Her story was different. At that time, she had so many men and women around her, I was wondering whether she is the right partner for me, because I was also associating with so many men and women. Anyway, I thought why not try because the friend who told me about her painted a beautiful picture of hers. So initially it was one sided love. My Journey in LOGIN

I have completed 15 months in the LOGIN network. During this period, I have seen lots of ups and down within the membership in my own country. After my first CF meeting in Colombo, I have more clarity about my roles and responsibility as I have an idea what exactly LOGIN network and how my fellow CFs are working in their respective country. With continued support from the LOGIN secretariat and other CFs, my confidence is boosted. Things are slowly changing – I am able to communicate better with membership in my country, and gradually my role as a CF has been accepted better. Read more...
