Learning Visit and Experience Capitalisation Workshop on Youth Engagement in Local Governance

LOGIN member, Center for Local and Regional Governance of the National College of Public Administration and Governance of the University of Philippines (CLRG-NCPAG-UP), supported by the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) and the Department of Interior and Local Governance (DILG) Office in Makati City, hosted a learning visit and workshop focusing on the Philippine’s unique model of youth participation through the Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council).

The workshop was intended to serve as an opportunity for the Network to explore and engage with the theme of youth in governance, identifying critical issues that warrant discussion and collaborative action. 

Objectives

  • To equip the participants with a clear understanding of how youth in the Philippines are empowered and actively engaged in local governance, specifically through the Youth Councils and the National Movement of Young Legislators

  • To facilitate cross-learning amongst the membership through experience sharing, exchange of good practices and articulation of challenges and enabling factors with respect to role of youth in local governance

  • To explore potential linkages for peer partnerships on the theme within the Network
