Local Governance and Access to Urban Services in Asia

This policy brief explores how democratic processes in local governance affect access to urban services in Asian cities, especially for marginalized groups. It outlines research findings that are applicable across countries at the city level including increasing the role and capacity of local governments, transparency and accountability to promote access to services, active participation of migrants, women and minorities and inclusive planning of urban areas.
